GRADING POLICY
Due to the nature of our pins (size, detail, limited quantity, and handmade nature) please note that there may be small imperfections in your pin.
We strive for the best quality possible, but as these pins are handmade sometimes you might notice minor cosmetic imperfections such as a small scratch, or slight enamel under-fill. Please see below for a list of possible imperfections. All sales are final. No exchanges.
Pins are inspected in natural light, at eye level, from a distance of 10-12". Imperfections should be noticeable immediately. Please use similar discretion.
If you have any concerns with your pin please feel free to reach out to us but please note that you might not be offered a refund if you:
• need to take an extremely close picture where the pin is larger than it is in real life
• need to circle the area of concern in order to point it out
• can only capture it in a video or with use of angled light to reveal the imperfection
Please understand that in an instance where a concern is raised we will be using our own discretion to determine if a resolution is to be offered and to what degree.
*We make sure all our pins are painted, polished, and assembled by hand. We do not use machine painting as it reduces jobs and increase environmental footprint.
If you anticipate machine-made perfection, this might not be the shop for you!
Thank you for reading and thanks for understanding! The goal here will always be to deliver beautiful art in a form we love for a community we adore. Without your support, these projects would not be possible. Much love!
PLEASE REFER BELOW TO EXAMPLES OF POSSIBLE COSMETIC IMPERFECTIONS:
All pins are Standard Grade unless otherwise specified. Due to its handmade nature, Standard Grade pins may include minor cases of the following imperfections:
• Slight enamel under-fill
• Slightly off-set screen printing (screen printing is hand-pulled paint and exact location can fluctuate by up to 1mm in any direction)
• Small air bubbles
• Light particles of dust in enamel
• Missing enamel in very small areas that are difficult to fill
• Loose or broken post: Please note that we always use 1-2 posts more than necessary due to an occasional instance where a pin might break in transit. Compared to standard double-post, all our pins are typically triple-posted or quadruple-posted. If pins become bent they can be carefully straightened using flat or needle nose pliers. If a pin is loose there is nothing to be concerned about because our pins are surrounded by a welded metal casing instead of being glued directly to the back.
• Small dent/nick/scratches, which can sometimes occur during the grinding and polishing process (please note, sometimes large flat surfaces of enamel or raised metal will show micro-scratches at an angle due to the polishing process. These are only noticeable with use of angled light)
Imperfections on the sides or the back of pins will not be taken into consideration in the grading process unless imperfections on the sides take away significantly from the front aesthetic of the pin (such as excessive enamel overfill)
